Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the 2024 VW Golf near Rio Rancho, NM with a GTI 38

To celebrate the heritage of the stick shift in these hot hatchbacks and the 40th Anniversary of the GTI, a special-edition build called the Golf GTI 380 will be available exclusively for the North American market. Every 2024 manual Golf GTI will come standard with this particular equipment set. Peter Danilovic, Senior VP of Product Marketing & Strategy for VW of America, had this to say, “The GTI 380 conveys our appreciation for the enthusiasts who have continually demonstrated their love for the manual-equipped GTI for over 40 years.”
VW has combined performance-enhancing and design elements cherished by VW enthusiasts with an exclusive color (Graphite Gray Metallic) to provide a unique equipment set to each 2024 trim with a manual transmission. This means the S, SE, and Autobahn will all be offered as a GTI 380. Adaptive dampers and speed-sensitive steering, which normally come standard only on the Autobahn trim, were also added to the GTI 380.
Fans will love the summer performance tires that are wrapped around gloss black 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels (from the Golf R 20th Anniversary Edition). And with the red exterior detailing of the GTI, the gloss black painted roof and gloss black mirror caps really pop out visually. Other paint colors for the 2024 Golf GTI include Atlantic Blue Metallic, Deep Black Pearl, Kings Red Metallic, Moonstone Gray, Opal White Pearl, and Reflex Silver Metallic.
The VW internal model code for this generation of Golf GTI is Mk8, from which the 380 moniker comes. This variant of the Golf GTI is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder, delivering 241 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. The Golf R is powered by a modified version of the engine with 315 hp and 295 lb-ft.
Remember, this is the last VW Golf GTI that will be available with a 6-speed manual, giving you a more precise shifting experience. The 7-speed dual-clutch DSG will continue for future models of the Golf GTI and Golf R.
As a tribute to the Golf GTI’s history, the manual shift knob is golf-ball inspired, which has been included in every generation of the GTI. The classic Scale Paper Plaid cloth seats are featured in the S and SE trims, while Vienna leather upholstery is standard for the Autobahn trim. The leather is also an option for the SE variant.
